D-Day

Diagnosis Day

So it happened.

You got a diagnosis

Dreaded

Dreadful

Dealt the cards you can play. Dice Rolled

The waiting (link to Waiting post) is over

Now what?!

Upside Down

My diagnosis day #4

You have permission to…

scream until you are hoarse (into a pillow of course)

laugh until your belly aches & cheeks quiver

cry until your tears (and nose!) run dry

move until you are exhausted & spent (alone or with another)

To Feel it ALL-brief, fleeting and let it go

I want to empower you to start something-just for you

A new life course has been opened up and revealed to you.

Time to chart a new course, change in lifestyle, up the attitude of love.

Practice poise, not panic

Yoga for Meditation

Out of the darkness of diagnosis and into the LIGHT of LIFE!!

Waiting

waiting

Waiting for…

a diagnosis, a test result, a doctor’s call.

an interview, a call back, a new job.

a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound result, a baby.

Waiting to see what will happen to your life, your plans, your dreams.

Asking yourself:

How much will things change?                                   Will I be able to cope?

WTF?!                                                                                   WHAT IF?!

Please breathe

This waiting place is often the worst and most fearful place to be.

The unknown. The possibilities. The unanswered questions.

For now, in this waiting place, its probably best to get out!

(of your head that is)

Away from your churning thoughts, worried, mind, anxious heart, sick to your stomach feeling.

Go to the library or a bookstore

Cruise to a section you never visit

Explore                Discover               Expand                 Wonder               Wander

Look all around you

Eye candy abounds. Ideas float all around. Thoughts flutter by every moment.

If you can’t leave your home-go online exploring

Not to the medical sites, not to the pages and profiles of others.

Open your favorite search engine, pick a fun word and go!

Right now is NOT the time to research.

It’s a time to escape into pictures, sounds and words of lightness and fun.

You have permission to take this time to let the wonders of this world wash over you.

Clean & calm the soul

Uplift & enliven your spirit (meditation for raising your spirit)

Lighten & open your heart (heart-opening yoga sequence)

Whatever Will be, Will Be Happy Doris Day!)

Create a new routine, rally cry, book list.

Grateful

praying hands

I write the thanks which pours from my fingers. The blessings given and not given. Gratitude. Gifts withheld. I write of the things I long to see more of. The tiny fingers and toes, the sweaty heads and grimy feet. The sunshine through a dirty window. Flowers making limbs heavy on trees. Smells of heaven-chocolate mint lip balm kissing my lips! Writing Down the Bones and being a Momma Zen. Starting to Romance the Ordinary and finding Simple Abundance in my days. Thankful for the body which does all that I ask of it and more. Feeling its soft spots and bone. It’s movement and stillness. The in and out breathe of my lungs. I write to let the whispers and shouts in my head out to play on the page with words and feeling. I cup stillness in my hand and feel it in my toes. Smiles playing on lips and fingertips itching for silk to glide on. Small backs to tickle. Hair to smooth. Dirty to wipe. All sacred. All beauty. All thank yous. Tears travel down my cheeks, salty on lips as blessings are remembered and forgotten. Letting the wonder pass through me and back into the world. Thanks.

Reach Beyond

Reach Beyond

Do you reach beyond to touch the sky,

Or lag behind, afraid to try?
Do you reach beyond to learn anew
Or hesitate-the same old you?
Do you reach beyond to test your limit?
Or do you tell yourself, I’m timid?
Do you reach beyond to lead the pack,
Or do you waste time looking back?
Do you reach beyond & strive to find
Better ways to stretch your mind?
Do you reach beyond to care & share,
And help some others do & dare?
Do you reach beyond, expect the best
Or have you given up the quest?
Do you reach beyond & claims your space,
Here & now, this time, this place?
Do you reach beyond & try to soar,
Or, sadly, play it safe once more?
